Little Big Town
Art Direction, Branding, Graphic Design
Even in our current age of streaming, this two-decades-young country music group, Little Big Town, seems to quite effortlessly maintain the words gold & platinum by their name. In 2017 they sold over a million copies of their single, “Better Man,” a song penned for them by none other than Taylor Swift. One of country music’s hardest working acts (and kindest people you will ever meet), they play hundreds of shows each year, packing out arenas, stadiums, and festivals worldwide. With over ten No. 1 singles under their belt, it seems they’re just getting started. Four friends offering the world their sweet harmony.
The band’s management team contacted us before the release of their debut single off the record, The Breakers. They would be releasing the song (“Better Man”) and then performing it on the Grammy’s in a few short weeks. The wanted simple, modern, and fashion-forward and the song – well, it was epic. Photographer, __________, captured this sentiment so well with a cascading shot of the band in a cloud of billowing skirts and wind blown hair traversing across a field. It felt romantic and aptly heroic and fresh for the band.
When the time came, we stuck with the pale pink established in the single and gave it new life in the cover for The Breaker. Slightly throw back but unmistakably modern, the band clad in Gucci and thigh high leather perched quite confidently amongst a heroic fallen tree. Final selections were made one winter morning, huddled around our studio table, both artists and management in tow.
Later projects include branding for their first ever residency at the Roman Auditorium and art direction for “The Breakers Tour” and upcoming, “The Bandwagon Tour” with Miranda Lambert.
